[By some miracle, they'd survived. Just like usual, they were thrown into a situation that was too dangerous, but everyone was able to make it out of it alive. His squad was finishing up on the other side of this abandoned city; he could hear the explosions hours ago that marked the end of the mission. He and Shinya were responsible for taking on a vampire noble and his guards all on their own. It was risky with just two of them, but Guren had insisted it would work.
And it did. Even if they were both bloodied messes, their demons still at work regenerating their bodies. All they have to do is wait until transport came to pick them up. At least, that's what they were told would happen about an hour ago.
Now, the gentle rain from before begins to turn into a downpour. It's a ruined city, and they're stuck out in the open, with no shelter to speak for. This was the meeting point. But Guren glares down at his phone, squeezing it.]
Damn it... [Kureto must think this is some sort of hilarious joke, leaving the two of them injured in the rain when he'd promised transport. Pushing up from where he'd been sitting against rubble, he reaches for Shinya, expecting his hand. They can hobble somewhere else.]
Come on. He's not coming. [He doesn't hide the way his eyes scan over his friend, checking on his injuries.]

But what the both of them needed was some shelter, transportation, maybe even a hot meal after treating these wounds a little more thoroughly. But here they are! Abandoned, just the two of them... and Shinya isn't even the least bit surprised; that's clearly why he's smiling. ]
Are you sure? Maybe he got lost.
[ That's bullshit and Shinya knows it despite the playful tone of his voice. Still, he reaches for Guren's hand and smiles with a hum as he goes about pulling himself up. ]
At least the blood should wash out in all this rain.

[Pulling Shinya up by his hand, his other immediately goes to his back, offering support if he needs it. If he can walk on his own, Guren will let him, but until he knows for sure, he wants to double check.
There was a chance that Kureto would do this. He knew that Guren would choose Shinya alone to come with him on this side, so maybe it was some sort of a punishment. "Don't get too close. You belong to me. Shinya does, too." Something like that? Hell if he knows. But it pisses him off, and Guren's going to return it to Kureto later in the most passive aggressive way he can manage.
But for now, they're stuck. The sun is too close to setting to go off on their own and walk back, especially in this condition. They have to rest and heal.]
Let's see if we can find somewhere with a bed. [These clothes are going to have to dry or they'll end up sick, too, but he's trying to worry about that on his own, along with about fifty other things.]

[ Teasing, as always (what better way to mask the pain?), Shinya allows himself to lean against Guren... and he does so rather heavily at that. He's been through worse, much much worse, but he can't say this is any sort of walk in the park either. His body aches all over, his back especially feels like it's been kicked in a couple hundred times, and he's sure he's bleeding somewhere under his shirt. But, hey, at least they have each other, right? How romantic... or something. ]
You'd think our demons would work a little faster with patching us up. Guess even they get tired.
[ It's said with a gentle chuckle accompanied with it, Shinya dragging his feet along with him while an arm keeps slung over Guren's shoulders. ]
But it's definitely a good idea to get some rest, especially not out in the open like this.

[An immediate response to that teasing, even as he works to make sure Shinya's arm is around him securely. Like this, they walk slowly, and while the pouring rain has washed away the blood that had been dripping from his head and into his face, it was also soaking his hair so that his bangs were now what was blocking his vision.
He runs his free hand through it, quickly, to get it out of the way, and then places it on Shinya's wrist to keep him held up.]
I'm completely fine. You're the one who needs to rest, so we're going to find you a bed. I told you not to get too close.
[Lightly scolding, Guren frets in this way, even as he coughs and hunches forward a little. There's a few particularly bad wounds in his gut, and on his back, but he's been through much worse himself. Still, the only reason he's standing at all is because Shinya had come in closer. He'd been cornered for a second there, getting too risky all to assure things went smoothly.
It looks like there's some sort of hotel ahead that's still mostly in tact. Missing few of the top floors in a corner, but the building hasn't collapsed completely yet, which says it's stable enough. He'll head there.]

Right. We're both screwed if any bloodsuckers decide to pop out of the shadows.
[ But he pushes forward, knowing that he had more or less brought this on himself. Sure, he's a long-range fighter by default, best that there is, but he's been trained in hand-to-hand combat and has even killed with his bare hands when he was nothing more than a child. So! He can handle himself? Usually. That is, when someone isn't being reckless or trying to take on more than he can handle and causes him to glance over out of concern. Sheesh, Guren sure owes him for this, doesn't he? ]
Don't suppose they have free cable, do they?
[ He mutters that with a smile when he spots the hotel they're moving towards, silently glad that it's still relatively in one piece. ]

He's focused on the first part, after all. They're going to be in a lot of trouble if a vampire finds them like this. It means they have to get inside and out of the way as soon as they can, and now that they've wasted an hour of their time waiting for a ride that won't come... Well. It's overdue.
Pushing his way through the front door, Guren leads Shinya into what is apparently a love hotel. It's almost nostalgic, and he breathes out a laugh, knowing that Shinya will know exactly why.
His memories aside, he's quiet otherwise, leading him forward still. Room choice is made entirely on what seems the safest, both from attack and for escape, and pushes in that way. There's a big bed in the center, along with a big TV that won't work. Unfortunately, the big hot tub off to the side also won't work.
But if there are robes around here, maybe they can put those on and let their actual clothes dry off. Leaving Shinya to lean against the wall at the entrance, he clutches at his own bleeding stomach and heads over to investigate.]
